Some memories that I withhold
Do still torment me today.
My soul, to you, I did unfold
And my trust you did betray.
How could you be so very cold
To push my feelings away.
Emotions that I had controlled
Have since turned to disarray.
I revealed my heart for console
My pain was not for display.
In secret my past had been told
And in secret it should stay.

Aye Nessa, you are correct, and it hurts when you realize someone you thought was a friend has betrayed you....
However it seems to hurt more when the person who backstabs you is family.
Betrayal (haiku)
Overwhelming pain
Drowns me in a flood of thoughts;
My emotions rage.
Your knife in my back
Puts me at a loss for words.
I bleed silently.

Thank you Lovewriter. I find writing about pain the best way for me to get over it. (Though not everything I write about is a personal experience).
