just so

Contributed by zeroelysium on Thursday, 19th June 2003 @ 09:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

i sit and weep when you arent around,
i alone and weep without a sound.

just so you dont see.

just so you dont know.
exactly how torn i really am ,

so you dont have to worry .
i slip on my smiling mask ,
just so you dont cry .

i pretend i dont want to die ,
just so you are happy i hide my pain, my tears , myself....

so many way to kill myself without killing myself

just so you are happy

Oh wow... there's so much real emotion in this. You should never feel you have to pretend to be happy for anyone. I completely understand the need to avoid bringing someone else down with your own unhappiness, but if this person is a true friend, and they found out you'd been faking and not being honest with them about how you've been feeling, they would probably be upset that you felt you couldn't be honest with them. Just make sure you know what's most important.

This is a worrying poem. I hope you are OK. The poetic style is brilliant. It was disturbing to read but I also enjoyed the real emotion in it.
