If people were like mirrors

Contributed by DeeDeeLeeChinn on Tuesday, 17th June 2003 @ 05:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

If people were like mirrors
What would their reflection be
What would they say then
And what would they cast upon me

Would they take a closer look
Of just what lies ahead
Or would they just close their eyes
And think it's something that's not
Really there instead

A mirror says many things about us
If you look deeper, oh you must
There you will find
A pair of glasses
For all who were blind

To see the fact before them
That in order to be important
To anyone, you must be
Your own best friend

Take care of yourself and think
How is it, I want to be treated
And no, never defeated knocked down
Just loved, cared for and picked
Up from the ground

The mirror don't lie
The mirror is a reflection
Of all who past by

So take one with you and learn to see
That there are those out there
Who cast to you and me

But if we were strong and happy inside
There is nothing we need to hide

Many reflections are just that
Something we wish were
Or something we wish we had

So be strong and look away
You'll find what your looking for
Soon maybe tomorrow
And leave behind your yesterday

Reflection inside our mind
Let go and leave behind

This is really a good one. Honestly. It made me think a lot about myself. Thanks for the 'philosophy' within this poem. I love it.
