I want my chance with her love
To show her how I feel
I wanna open up this heart of mine
So she can see I’m real
I want my chance with her love
To hold her by the fires light
I wanna look into her eyes
And see them sparkle bright
I want my chance with her love
To gently hold her hand
While walking side by side
Next to the ocean's endless sand
I want my chance with her love
To run my fingers through her hair
I wanna hold her close to me
So she'll know I'm always there
I want my chance with her love
I wanna be where she is
I want my chance with her love
But unfortunately... she is his.

HI- Your poem is certainly for either sex. No matter how old your poetry is- events such as you describe never change from year to year.
Heartwarming!

Shari,
I certainly agree with you! I have always had this problem though. I'm a bit shy in my older age, not like I was in my early 20's, gets harder as you get older I think, maybe it's just me. Thank you for the comment!
