Boundaries

Contributed by yellow_sundragon on Saturday, 14th June 2003 @ 04:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I'm changing again,
And what for?
My spirit is restless,
I want more.

The boundaries that were set,
Are just too small.
So I'm jumping in head first,
I'll take this fall.

It's a scary decision,
It changes my whole life.
But I'm tired of being an outcast,
Tired of heartache and strife.

The boundaries that they set,
I have outgrown.
I'm taking your offered hand,
I like what you've shown.

But I need you to understand,
I am not doing this for you.
I am doing this because it's time
To move on to something I believe too.

The boundaries I had set,
Was just a front built tall.
With a high head I stare,
As we break down that wall.

What a sweet poem that shows just how
one grows and grows a little, now
a little more as time goes by,
until it's time for us to fly.

You probably know that I used to be terrified of change. But now I know it can be a really good, really healty thing. I applaud you and say great poem! Sometimes you've just gotta do things for you and no one else.
