Angel Without Wings

Topic: FriendshipPoetry

I wish I felt like you feel the way you used to
But I don't feel that you do
I feel so far away from you
I wish I thought you need me the way you used to
But I'm almost sure you don't
The things you used to do, you won't

I pray that we can be
The way we used to be
Inseparable and not wanting it any other way
I wanna sit with you
Pour it all out to you
And know that you will understand no matter what I say

Let's look at the stars
Let's watch the sun go down
Let's talk, laugh and cry
Erase each other's frowns
Let's walk holding hands
Not a care in the world
Let's share everything
And be each other's worlds

I wish I knew things can be the way they used to
But I don't know that they can
Would you follow me if I ran?
I wish you'd act the way you always did before
Will it ever be the same?
I hope you'll still play without shame

Let's pull another "HONK!"
Damn... nothing rhymes with honk
See I know you just laughed at me and no I'm not a dork!
We're different but the same
And if I called, you came
Things used to always be so clear but now this road could fork

Let's be those best friends
That no one else quite gets
Mystify them all
This isn't over yet
Once there was a time
I could say anything
Now it seems daunting
If my words mean something

But there is still a light
I can see it in my sights
You used to always be there
Now I can't find you there
But you're still the one thing
You're my angel without wings
You're that one special something
And to me, that means everything

Damn, I wish I would've read this sooner.
Haha, and you caught me there... I did laugh after I read that line... : P

Dee, I don't know if things could be the way they used to. Everythings so different now... I mean... You'll always be my light amidst darkness. You'll always be the one person that will know me best, and you'll always be my bestest friend. Anyway, I don't want this to get too personal... so I'll send you an email.

Always,
Emmie
