Nothing’s changed
It’s still the same
This lonely flame
Burns without a name
You released it, and nourished it;
I cherished it and let it flourish
Together we discovered
We let ourselves be adored
I let myself be taken over
Utterly intoxicated by you
Shielded in your glassy blue stare
Delirious without a care
But in that same dazzle of light
That allowed you to be mine
Unexplainable events took hold
Something inside you grew old
My devotion
Was your revulsion
But the unexplainable soon
Became crystal clear
For she became available
And so I became disposable
The dreamy bond I’d treasured
Tried my hardest to protect
Was broken by an unidentified ‘she’
This ‘she’ evidently
Meaning much more than me
So you’ll find me here again
Solitary again
Nothing’s changed.

Your poem I love, ...I expect
you know of a real defect,
SOMETHING has changed
Your experience has ranged
You now know when you will be wrecked.
