Doomed to fall
This great wall
In all its glory
It tells a story
Yet untold
A heart so cold
Rejecting the pain
Only to keep sane
Once full of joy
In love with a boy
Lifted from the gloom
Yet, lost to doom
Too good to be true
So, the great wall grew
Weakening the spirit
Nothing could clear it
Each sturdy fragment
Sealed by rigid cement
Sheltered behind stone
Standing alone
Behind the icy eyes
Beneath the stone cold disguise
Weakness was found
But strength was abound
The wall
Stood tall
But before us all
The great wall
Will fall

It's strange to me but as I read this I was reminded of the children's poem Humpty Dumpty...I suppose the reason is because Humpty himself has this great wall..but in the end he fell and was shattered. We all have some type of wall that we put up in certain situations. The sad thing is that usually the wall is doing us more harm than good... |
