My Addiction

Contributed by MoonlitAngel on Monday, 9th June 2003 @ 04:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: happypoetry

Surrounded by the sound
Of being understood
It holds me
Wrapping gently around me
Soothing me softly
With its rage
And its sadness
Finally I can sleep
Solace in the sounds
Of real emotion
Pounding off the walls
My sweet lullaby
It fills me all the way up
And I don't feel alone anymore
And it makes me happy
Content in its caress
Brushing against my skin in the night
Bringing warmth in the cold
And it cools me in this heat
Gives me a place to go to
Where I can just be me
Don't have to answer to anybody
Or miss a single thing
I turn it on and I feel at home
I'm finally where I belong
It satisfies me deep inside
I feel it running through my veins
Like an addiction
And playing in my head
A vision of perfection
I lock myself away from the world
And turn it all the way up
And nothing else matters
'Cause this is all there is
I've finally found my peace
