under my umbrella

we've already been here
for mystified devils
requesting backflips
for pennies and smiles
yet, i know you too
well
that face mask forgot to
cover your eyes
i'd know those eyes
anywhere
anywhere from here,
what your shame
won't conceal
like taking fire to
ice to fingertips
to my heart
i could
read more from the
bend of your knee
than from any poem
'till the darkness falls
over your city
and i
get lost in your shadow
i become blind
but i still feel
you not even
by candlelight could
i find your shore
but i can weather
this storm
at least i think
i can
under this spell i
can not break
i'll end up under
my umbrella and
you attach to it,
a storm
and i think, yes,
we've been here before
