Catharsis

Contributed by bobotheclown on Sunday, 8th June 2003 @ 02:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Discontent, disrespected, distant
Unmotivated by the very things I fear
Looking for any means of catharsis
Whatever the cost
Whatever the outlet
Whether good or bad

Weeping on a pendulum of depressed emotions
Rocking back and forth on this uncertain sea
Saddened, yet pressing onward
For a smile or word of gratitude
From the multitudes of zombie-like peers
Chanting the analogous consumer slogan

(Brainwashed)

Dreary oh the drudgery every depressed meter
Met with the gazes of the pedophiliac masses
Within the codge of this revolving earth
Spinning toward its ultimate destruction
From whatever pointless religion or philosophy
You cling to or adhere to,
To satisfy your maimed heart

My eyes are a gaping wound
Screaming all that I am incapable of
Slapping to the ground the tears descend
Or threaten to at my own thoughtless indescretion
Nauseated by scenes of exuberance,
Yet weary of my mouth set in a grim line

Catharsis, the word rolls over my tongue like honey
Slitting that crucial vein
Or swallowing mountains of pills
Those concepts make me quiver dreamily
Catharsis, I must do something to allay these fears
I can't fight anymore on my lonesome
