I saw him next
in the things he said.
I saw him last
with the kiss upon my cheek.
I wish now
that I could have only told him then.
Because I have fallen in love-
with my best friend.

I held my tongue once or twice, and often wonder "what if" I hadn't. Maybe that's why I'm so reserved these days, I still don't know how to take the chance despite what the cost may be.
