She could never fall
from the moonlit sky
She can make it alone
but she can't think why
A tear shed for every runner
The line too far away
Others made it long before
Sharing things you cannot say
If I take my chances
Will she take me in?
The weird people are out again
There is nothing left to win
One day I'll fail
She says as blood hits shoe
My people won't love me anymore
The runners won't have a clue
A drink sir
To time running thin
The strangers losing all their prime
The girl will not let in

This reminds of runners running in a race, all trying on their own to make it the finish line. But what will they find at the end is it true love, lonliness, who knows. They have to find out on their own, no one else can do it for them. I think it is a good poem, curious though if it could be developed more with a few lines added. |
