The one who haunts your dreams
And reaches 'bidden soul
Who plunders God's last keep
To seek that of Paul
A truth long lost deep
In caverns' thoughts of foe
Past wardens wrought of fire
The Abyss one does meet
To stare upon self
And tremble lest greet
Conviction's temptress lies
On promises she'll try
To corrupt truest aim
And forsake His rule
O'er heathen's reign
And for what she knows not
But harpy's cry answered
Summoned as moth to flame
To burn sacred light
And for no-one's gain
That which is long cherished
Taste bitter for delay
