innmate 970349

As I walk through your cold heartless unfeeling doors
I realize that it is going to be the last time that I will be entering this place to go to a class
The last time that I would be referred as a number
Inmate number 970349 not knowing me by my name
The quite one, the one that places friends ahead of schooling

As I turn around and look you into your brick walls
I think to myself
Have I really left my mark on this school?
Will anyone remember me after I leave?
What will I be remembered as?
Will those that promised to keep in contact ever talk to me again?
All these questions running through my head

The one that hurts the most the one question that wont leave me alone is the one
Did I really abandon my friends?
I had to move on but maybe I should have stayed

I take one last look at your unfeeling walls
At your jail like windows
And I smile to my self
Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School as not seen the last of
Inmate 970349

lol well i thought it will be about someone in jail or prison. lol. but then i realized you were talking about being in school and last day. those were good times being with friends . I sometimes wonder if they think about me. I entered the classmates .com had a few replies. this is a good write. love your poetry. it is very different then what i usually read on here. you talk with your heart and mind you not worried if it rhymes or not that's what takes to be a good write just speaking and writing where ever it takes ya. sandy

The title and the reference to it as you read the first verse is superb. It's like Les Miserables when they refer to the man as a number. Well done, well executed!!
