i searched so long for a way to make it on my own.
my efforts left me lost and blind and thirsty for Life.
it was a cold, dark world without you there to guide me.
now i'm in this empty room to surrender the way
i should have so long ago...
i offer you my pride.
i give to you the guilt inside.
i beg you to claim the heart
the world bruised and scarred.
i cast the spear from my bloodied hands,
I reach and take the cross from the sands.
I long for my life to be as yours,
holy, sanctified, and pure.
though i searched so long, i found only shadows.
away from you there is no joy, no strength for tomorrow.
but now you're here, your arms are round about me.
i'm shedding tears, because every word sounds so empty.
your life is all that there is...
i offer you my pride.
i give to you the guilt inside.
i beg you to claim the heart
the world bruised and scarred.
i cast the spear from my bloodied hands,
I reach and take the cross from the sands.
I long for my life to be as yours,
holy, sanctified, and pure.
like you, holy. with you, eternally.
to you, i am lovely. without you, nothing.
