My Scars of Life

Contributed by ruby_star_angel on Thursday, 5th June 2003 @ 08:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Living life; this I cannot take anymore
Each day I struggle, only to know tomorrow is near
My wrists and ankles are so sore
Down my face trails a lone tear

Never have I asked for life's pain so fine
Every night I always wake from a dream
A dream of a better place; it stays in my mind
But nothing can bring me there; nothing as it seems

Too many times have I made let my blood flow
I watch it trail down my wrist and to the ground
My blade is red from the blood I let go
Nothing will stop me, I let the darkness surround

If you look closely, you can see my scars
If you watch me at night, you can see me struggle
I'm locked up in a room; my house is like bars
Myself between life and death, I seem to juggle

No one understands; and I won't let them know
No one cares for me, so it doesn't bother me
I cut myself again, so close to the bone
Again it drips, it drips so freely

I smile and have no attempt on stopping this
Maybe someone will learn after my death has gone by
Why I would try; why I accepted Death's Kiss
Why I placed my life on a bird to disappear in the sky

I know my time is soon, I know for I am getting weak
But hear this, my life, please do not save
I ask of you, one last favour, for you to seek -
Many black roses to lay upon my grave

And now my life may finally be gone
Don't dare a person stop me
Nobody will miss me, well at least not for long
But now my life is finished, blessed may I be

This has to be one of the most beautiful poems i have ever read. I am speechless. You have such a talent here. I'm going through what you are, and i promise you that you will be missed by some. I talked to one of my best friends today about my suicide attempts (past and future) and i could see how much she would miss me, but i guess in the end, i'm not sure if it is enough to stop me, no one can be saved if they don't want to be saved. Beautiful poem. Try and hold on, love and hope, EmilyxXx

...........Woah.....That's so deep. This poem is one of the best poems I have ever read...I really really REALLY like this poem. It so much deeper and much more emotional than mine. This poem is so me too....I know exactly how you feel. Trust me.
My most favorite line is "Don't dare a person stop me Nobody will miss me...." That's the best way to decribe how I feel about people.
Again best poem I have ever read...

Wow this spoke to me so deeply I really can relate and to some extent feel the pain that you express so fully in this poem. i loved the rhyme scheme and it seemed to flow so freely something that is hard to do with rhyming poems. Wow... thnx for sharing this peace of you... Check out the band Scars of Life on mp3.com... Hope u can smile in the future.
