Love can be blinding
I shield myself from the truth
So I wouldn’t have to believe

But if the love is stripped
Then all that is left is the clear view
The clear view of the one I had loved

My love was betrayed
Another name to the list of shattered hearts
I prayed it wasn’t true

But there it is
Fallen into my lap and staring back at me
The painful truth about the real you

Love can be blinding
I tried to shield myself from the truth
So I wouldn’t have to believe

I kiss my faith goodbye
I wave farewell to my trust
Nothing can heal the wound you’ve cut

My love was betrayed
Another name to the list of shattered hearts
I prayed it wasn’t true

Leave my heart and stop this turmoil
Just seeing you makes me weep
Another name to the list of shattered hearts

'Love can be blinding'
So damn true you took that well known statement and turned it into an honest masterpiece. I loved this. Your not alone in having your heart broken just know one day your pain will end and your smile will re-appear no matter how empty that sounds its true.
