I take solace in the things I have.
A "functioning" life,
A beautiful wife,
Two lovely children.
I take solace in the things I have.
My freedom,
People who understand,
Even if it's just tolerance.
I take solace in the things I have.
A job,
A home,
A family.
I take solace in the things I have.
I look back...
I see the confusion,
The mistakes-
The incessant grind I lived.
I see the stupidity-
The ignorance-
The carefree, thought free, way I lived.
I take solace in the things I have-
Much of which I don't deserve.
Someone forced a different path-
To take a curve-
A second chance...
Most of all I take solace in that.
