Being Happy

Contributed by Sweetie on Tuesday, 6th August 2002 @ 12:16:49 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

I would lay awake at night and cry
and every morning I woke up hoping to die
and now when I think about it I ask myself why
I used to think I had no reason to live
nothing to do, say or give
I used to daydream of commiting suicide
and I can't count how many times I cried
I used to think my life was worthless and I was a mistake and each and everyday I just couldn't take all that I was going through
But now I see the light that's true
and I've found happiness that's took away all my sadness that made me blue
I want to say that happiness will one day come your way
Just look up at the night sky at a star
and remember happiness isn't very far
God is just a prayer away
He will guide you through your each and every day
You choose to be who you are
you can be happy, sad, or even mad
even when the times are tough
and your best isn't ever enough
remember these words that I say
ask yourself why you shouldn't be happy today
Life is such a precious gift
So be happy everyday
because God wouldn't want it any other way
Think about the gift you've been given
now you see why your living
so be happy and just let your problems be
cause being happy will always set you free...

This is a very beautiful poem and alot of this describes how I feel in life right now. Maybe in given time I will learn to be happy. I hope so but I guess for now I will continue to just be who I think is me. This is really a great poem...

I used to think like you did too but I learned that if I always stayed miserable I would attract sadness to me... but if I stayed happy I would attract happiness around me. So I chose the latter..very good poem you've got here
