Should I die a thousand deaths
Before I wake again?
Or find myself beheaded, drowning in a bottle of sin?
Wasting away at the mere thought of you
Would be the death of me.
Waking up without you,
How horrendous that would be.
In the depths of darkness
Your footsteps are not heard.
My conscious mind is wavering,
Well that/'/s quite absurd.
I/'/ve lost the scent of you
On my pillow case,
Each night I lay there,
Thinking "Oh, I/'/ve gone to waste."
As I down the bottle
once again that night,
I/'/ll be thinking of you once more
Oh, what a sight!
Staring into the empty
recesses of life
I wonder what caused
So much pain and strife...

Hope fades as your words deliver a spiral of a corrosive soul lost in the abyss. Haunting lines that take you on a journey not knowing the end. Well done |

A lot of wordy power in this. I particularly enjoyed the line
"drowning in a bottle of sin"
Quite thought provoking and emotive
Great write
