Regrets You Should Never Have

I read the way you felt
Whether it was your words
Or mine in another voice
It struck a chord
A minor if you must know
And I raped it
For it meant nothing
A scribble on a planned life
Less meaningful… than a shopping list
A minor if you must know
Has not the choice
That you never had
But it's okay now
If you can clear the clouds
A minor if you must know
Breaks God's heart in two

hmm, i like it - repetition is effective and the simplicity of the style and the ambiguity of the content create a nice contrast. a little disturbing maybe, perhaps because i haven't fully understood it. great write, Kate x |
