Sweet Mollie

Contributed by Northernlights on Tuesday, 3rd May 2016 @ 02:21:16 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Sweet Mollie,
Fortress of the ocean,
Stands in the elements as tresses of curls
Flow in streams of Neptune/'/s breath, lifting
Arms to embrace the elements, greeting
The North wind, embracing the south.

Facing as life forces merge and
Waves crash and roar, for she the
Pinnacle, the life breath, the saviour
Of all that depend on her grace.

For she is the whisper, the might
And the favour of those in supplication,
For where strength of mind and flesh
Sweat the existence of the sight
Of dawn she will be the reason for
The next breath.

And she sighs with the skies
And rises with a path that
Splices.
No more to roam the decks
And haunt the furrowed lines
Of anguished souls
But returned
She bows.

What a mysterious and powerful piece of writing! Intelligent and just a silky flow throughout due to the strong wording. Creative and well done my friend.

It read like a beautiful love poem to a lass who lives with an open heart and you may love her! Obviously I love this. It let my imagination run...

Ditto Iris, though I confess to be the victim of ambiguity; that shared, I still ditto iris. part of the beauty of poetry is in the interpretation of the words. A masterful piece.

thanks for your share.

A haunting, stylish and elegant write. I/'/ve read your poem numerous times, it/'/s a beauty. I/'/m not sure whether Mollie is a spirit for sailors, or indeed a sailing vessel. I might be lost in an event some years back, in The North Sea, when The Mollie Louise went over. Whatever, I was completely seduced.
