All the animals are out and about
Ready to play
Enjoying their day
Mister and Misses Cardinal
Out on the grounds
Picking up strands of hay
That will become a nest for two
Later on in the day
Beneath them are two rabbits
Gently and softly chewing the finer grasses
They don/'/t mind the effort as it/'/s more of a habit
Over in the meadow
Coming to join his grazing fellows
The plump and portly woodchuck
Gathers and eats everything yellow
Mister Cardinal now high up in the tree
Surveys his kingdom below
Bright red and pretty, wouldn/'/t you know
Over from the woods come the Deer
Wondering what all the racket is about
Looking to join the show
Oh no said them all
As Mister Red-Tailed Hawk
Steals the show
As he glides to the top of an old oak tree
You can hear a pin drop as he proclaims
They all must be afraid of me
But just for today
I/'/ll let them all simply be
So they can enjoy their day

amazingly clear
just letting the
animals as they
are and as they
will somehow glorify
the hour
the day
the life
such a jewel
it is to take a small
part of it in
it is to me almost
like going back
and joining history
or the solemnly held
past
some realness
or maybe a call
from the natural realm
in a spiritual calmness
if you walk the paths
that i go down
before the sun comes up
Great write James!!!
Peace!

Beautiful, smile-inducing, imagery laden poem.
Nature walks are the best, and that is exactly what this makes me want to do.

//Man, I love this with all its gentle happiness and imagery.
I saw a video on FB yesterday where a rabbit was following along with a fawn. The fawn looked as though at one point it turned and looked at the rabbit as if to ask, "you coming?" And it did.
Thank you, Jimmy.
