Tubes,
Cards.
Ugly decay.
Extortionate parking
“Can’t stay long”
People with carrier bags grapple at plastic chairs
doing their duty, swallowing kryptonite
dreading their future
in this soporific showroom
A rank smell of disinfectant
Cleans all but thought
hurried feet torpedo the unlucky on gurneys
through dreaded, despairing corridors
to those who have seen everything;
yet still paddle frantically.
Awkward discussions take place
In hot, quiet rooms
as the band plays on.
Religion is found behind the wall clock.
Whilst hope lies on the cross.
Nails are hammered in by second opinions
and you must watch, as they lift.
After al, it was your choice.
I don/'/t have to remind you, do I?
Just Remember where you are
Wash your hands
and /*****/ off
