Streets Of Life

Contributed by Lia on Friday, 12th July 2002 @ 10:42:09 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Held onto colors that caress a rainbow
Peeked through the sand that flows through an hourglass
Whisped across whitecaps of an ever rising wave
Ran my fingers through leaves hung shantilly on a weeping willow
Caught the whisper of a lovebird interlaced within the wind
Carried grace under my wing as I tripped across the meadows
Held God as my witness to the tormenting tragedies of time
And held my breathe more than once as I walked upon the streets of life

Wow! Dear dear Lia magical stuff - this is approaching form for sure - I love it! every line.
I remember dragging my fingers through the leaves of the willow tree at the rear of the 19th century poet Rupert Brook's house in a village near cambridge here in England. The house was The vicarage at Grandchester of which he wrote a poem of the same name (wonderful stufF as it happens). It has since been owned by Kieth Richards from the Rolling stones and subsequently by Jeffrey Archer, a disgraced British author and politician but then art spares no justice does it. Anyway I do so remember the feeling of the willow tree. (Hell I'm talking some crap tonight aren't I)
Love ya Lots
Terry xxx

An interesting mixture of calm serenity as depicted by nature and cold harsh reality of life. I've found the serenity and faced the hardships and so find this an easy poem to relate to.

Good work...
