All we need is to be near.
No matter where.
Here at each other`s side.
Where our love resides.
No words need to be uttered.
And emotions certainly not cluttered.
For too long we have been apart.
Torn from each other`s heart.
But what more could a dad ask for?
Excited you come bursting through the door.
Screeching and leaping into my arms.
Your joy like a blistering storm.
This is how I remembered you.
Before another made you blue.
Daddy`s bundle of joy.
Life`s every moment to be enjoyed.
Full of smiles love and laughter.
Every day a new and happy chapter.
My darling princess.
I allowed things to become a mess.
But from this day forth.
You and I go north.
I will make it right.
Protect you day and night.

Oh this is so true! "Your love is like a blistering storm!" The wild unfettered joy of children lets us abandon ourselves for a few fleeting seconds while they crush us with hugs and giggles.
I think we need children more than they need us.
Sweet little miracles. How blessed you are! and how deftly you have described that moment of reunion.
