Muddied Steps

Contributed by Invierno on Tuesday, 5th April 2016 @ 10:06:28 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I/'/ve tromped for years in your muddied steps
wiping grime from my soul
to put the sun back-

the wear is showing and all my scrapings
of graveled interaction is taking
what few soul lines remain,
erasing
that new shoe smell for the
reek of and crease of loss and pain.

Nice to be back and afforded such quality. Yep, the end of the line is just a new, or should I say, an old beginning. Some things, as you say, can never be ended.

i read this three times to soak up the message and the comments reiterated sentiments of your great insghtful but to me also personally eerie unsettling poem,as for me it seems reality re enacted this scene you create for me on good friday that was more like bad friday felt like i was being crucified your writing skills seem out of this world and i for one love to be taken on the jouney with u to wherever your poetic visions take me ,uncomfortably good x

Hmmm... When I read the description I thought trouble with struggles in your home, but only because that/'/s the first place //relationship// takes me. However, afterwards I/'/m thinking I got an idea of it. I also like the first two lines of the second stanza. How often do you recall looking underneath your shoes at the soles, only to think a little disappointedly, //"This is too soon!"//

Perhaps a message will be in order. I/'/ll pm you.
