In one quick dreadful hour,
Came the falling of two towers.
Confusion and panic everywhere,
People paused to stop and stare.
On September 11th, 2001
America's nation came undone.
Dust and flames slowly rise,
The pain is obvious in people's eyes.
Children cry as they pray,
Wondering, will Mommy come home today?
A million tears and broken hearts,
As families are violently ripped apart.
This is America's mournful song,
That will sound all the day long.
And yet in that flag of red, white, and blue,
There remains hope that we can continue.
We stop and we mourn,
But life must still go on.
And the victim's legacy
Will live on for all eternity
And though America will never be the same,
Proud of our country we will remain.
We must remain loyal to our land,
And united, we must always stand.
