River dark, flowing upstream
making fish work all the harder;
Lava arguing flow against
all rationale,
seeking home thus ejected in heat.
Such is this day-
I, fish and lava, no progress forward,
no means of retreat.

pyroclastic flows booms pops
slows cools you know it, all that crud
seemingly rising up beneath the floor boards,
the concrete, and the feeling of being knee deep
within it while appearing dormant like a history
of feeling nothing much like a mollusk
who knows what it was when they found it
hundreds of thousands of years later on,
just a piece of crap that resembles something odd
with no nice note sending its regards
I do not much like those kind of days.
Great write Invierno!
Keep it flowing... people smile when happiness
hits like a brick, their faces just cannot hide it
I do think it is quite remarkable
Peace! |

I have to say this Invierno, this evening I/'/m reading poems and I stumble upon yours and I make it a game by not reading who writes what, just reading what the topic is and the words, and then knowing your stuff next to other writers
poetry and then something strange happens
there is an organized generality to it, somehow.
Which is quite nice. This poem reads like an email
that is clear and resoundingly straight forward.
It could be something to set your day to, the tempo
and the description of asking why, is diminished
in a clear way.
It feels good, like a child plays. We move, we gain strength, but not because we gain anything.
We do it because we already have enough
I think.
Peace! |

Why do we believe that activity is accomplishment, and stillness is failure!
That we cannot have what we want is an offering in itself. An invitation to shelter and let the day go by without us.
Life will be there in the morning, as surely as destiny awaits us absent of our invitation. Afford yourself the same grace you bestow on a stranger-- permission to stand down. Self worth lies in the stillness, and the gift awaits your invitation.
