Upon their shoulders, hypocrites
they ride and wave the hand.
"Come look at me and you will see
the fairest in the land "
"Fear not, we come to help the poor,
to tutor and refine.
Wisdom to share beyond compare
and turn your tears to wine".
So down they bend to grace with touch
the peasants by the way,
who call them Gods and raise the odds
so all will have to pay.
And every good and noble word
within the hallowed halls
then vanished fast into the past
and left but empty walls...
Now sad it is, a tragic tale
the blind that lead the blind.
The future bleak and though they seek
the ditch is all they/'/ll find.

Hi Larry. Ditto the other comments, nicely done. A seasoned mix of cynicism, pathos and insight, with none overwhelming the other.
I want to see Trump punch a baby, and still win preselection. Then I know all is lost.
