When I grew tired of being me;
I climbed up to the CHANGING tree;
It’s sits upon a clovered knoll;
Calling to unhappy souls.
“Leave your troubles here and be;
Anyone you want to be”.
It boughs were bent with little sacks;
Tied by those who wished to lack;
All the sorrows they contained;
Hundreds of them still remained.
I’d wrapped my worries in a rag;
And tied it to a branch that sagged.
“Oh no” the tree said gleefully;
You cannot leave that here with me;
Until you take a sack in trade;
That is how my deal is made!”
So I picked the smallest one;
But going home it came undone;
Woes and worries flew about;
And through the front door of my house!
For seven nights they moaned and cried;
With anguish I could not abide.
I threw them out, “Be gone! You’re Free!”
But they knew they belonged to me.
No matter where I hid they followed;
Crying, wailing, dark cheeks hollowed!
Clinging to my skin and hair;
Eating til my soul was bare!
I hardly had the strength to climb
That little hill just one more time
Dragging all that grief and pain;
Knowing I would go insane;
If my little sack was gone;
Traded just as I had done!
On bloodied knees I reached the tree;
And never was one glad as me;
For there I saw my little sack;
“Please” I begged “Please, give it back!”
The tree bent down to look at me;
I heard its laughter, mocking me.
Within my vest the demons danced;
I hurled it to the highest branch!
Grabbed my sack and down I ran;
Back to where it all began!
Locked the door and dimmed the light;
Spread the sack with pure delight!
Out came tiny floating bubbles;
One for every precious trouble!
In that moment I had learned;
That I could bear what I have earned!
And fell asleep most gratefully,
with all my woes curled up with me!

Ha! Ya know, its our weaknesses and shortcomings that make us who we are, just as much as our strengths and virtues. Thank God for that or Id be quite lacking in all regards. I loved this light-hearted bit of wisdom.
Very well done
