In and Out of Love

I am so tired, but cannot sleep;
so sad, but I cannot weep
I finally realised, in too deep,
in and out of love.

the heart wants, and the heart needs
the right touch, and the right deeds;
the pretty flower, amongst the weeds,
in and out of love.

you can’t search and you can’t find
with eyes closed or half-blind;
lives are made to be entwined,
in and out of love.

paths cross and then part;
hard to keep a happy heart
lucky just to get a start,
in and out of love.

Hello old friend! I see your talent hasn/'/t fallen off one bit. I can feel your angst in this all too relatable write. Very well done, in fact I swear I hear this as a song.

It is difficult not to sing this!
It/'/s wonderful staccato rhyme has the rhythm of a heartbeat as a backdrop to the message. Like someone rising from a chair to say something and sitting back down before it is wholly said.

The gift is that you leave so much to the reader to contemplate and it sends us spinning off on memories and musings of our own!
Thank you for the journey!
