Envy Is A Sin

Contributed by randyjohnson on Monday, 25th January 2016 @ 06:58:11 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Many years ago, my brother had $50,000 and I envied him.
What I was unaware of at the time was that envy is a sin.
Some times we//'//re not aware of sinning when we commit sins, we don//'//t even know about it.
Envy is a sin and I don//'//t doubt it.
Envy can lead to greed and that//'//s not good.
Please avoid envying people because you should.
If somebody has something that you//'//d like to have, don//'//t envy him or her.
Envy is a sin that people should try to avoid committing, that//'//s for sure.

Thank you for sharing, this has a great message.
However, I think it would have been nice if you could have included more...
For instance, what does envy mean in your perspective?
When you say you envied your brother, what was that like for you?
Or what is it about envy that makes it a sin? I would have liked to see more depth.
Again, this has a good message. Thank you and keep on writing!

Nicely penned and so very true.
