A drench of rain came pounding down
you quickly grabbed my hand.
We slipped, I found myself face down
It could not have been planned.
We laughed so hard as we sat there
The rain still fell, we didn/'/t care.
We laughed so hard.
We laughed so hard.
A crowd gathered to stand and stare.
A drench of rain came pounding down.
There was nowhere to hide.
Glad not to be wearing my gown
and free to slip and slide.
I sat with you in muck and mire
Wondering what would next transpire.
I sat with you.
I sat with you.
Somewhere was there a groom for hire.
A drench of rain came pounding down.
from open clouds above.
We entertained most of the town
and started blooming love.
Our autumn eyes began to drown
As I looked up and you looked down.
Our autumn eyes.
Our autumn eyes.
Now drenched with blue no longer brown.

I really loved reading this poetic sort of story,
the emotional feeling in it feels so real.
And I love the rain, getting caught in it.
Getting caught in the rain can be just what is needed
or as they say, just what the doctor ordered.
I really liked reading this poem!!! Thank you!
Peace! |

This is almost like a romantic/'/s drinking song.
Maybe I/'/ll use I as just that. ;)
This actually really reminds me of this song "Those Hills" by Deine Lakaien.
"We/'/re lost, we/'/re lost, in stormy waters
Our ship, our ship, has run into ground
Your hand, your hand, give me your hand
I/'/ll take you to the promised land"
Gotta recommend this. :) I even read your start of the poem in the same rhythm. Lol
