The Last Love To Ever Hurt Me

Contributed by chrissylee on Monday, 18th January 2016 @ 05:18:36 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

You took my heart you took it well,
I thought you’d wrap me in cotton wool,
Thought no one would ever shatter my heart,
Thought you meant every loving word you said.

But now today no answer to my call,
Very seldom did my message you return,
Then tonight I tried to ring, but you turned off my life machine.
You never answered the phone you shut me out,
Then once again I tried to ring,
All I got was an answering machine,
So now the only assumption I have,
Is that there has always been someone else.

I’ll shut myself away, pulled down the blinds, lock the doors,
My broken heart now needs time to mend,
I feel you never meant the words you said.
That you loved me that I made you feel like no other before.
But that was a lie, Cause you’ve been with others all this time,
So now I’ll close and lock the doors, no one will get in this time,
I’d rather be alone for ever more,
Than feel the pains of glass digging into my heart.
No feelings of Love for another man ever again.
I loved you so much and I am sure you’d agree,
I’ve proven that to you over and over again,
Now you’re off with someone else, you proved that by not answering your phone tonight.
I’ll cry a million tears over you but when I am done I’ll never look your way again,
More than likely I am going to hurt for years over you,
I truly thought you were different and you were the one,
I’ll always love you John but your choice you made tonight.

Great poem full of emotion. We all have been there.
Never let them see you sweat........ Well done!
