Where Is Old Man Winter

Contributed by waynster on Saturday, 19th December 2015 @ 04:14:12 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

It’s the month of December
oh where is the snow
The grass is still green and it’s warm outside
what happened to the four season flow

I remember back in the day
back when I was just a child
Winters in the north were strong and cold
never heard of one being so mild

As we get older
most wish for the weather to stay warm
Not me though
I seriously want a snowy winter storm

I am a person of appreciation
to appreciate the warm, I need to also appreciate the cold
Loving all four seasons don’t change for me
even as I am growing old

So where is the snow
what is it that causes the weather to act this way
I truly wish winter would come
and summer and fall would go today

I may be in my fifties
but making snowmen or throwing snowballs is fun
It’s things like this that make you laugh and smile
it’s how maintaining your youth is done

So please old man winter
it’s time for you to come around
It’s time to bring us some cold
and sprinkle lots of snow on the ground

So well said! I miss the seasons! No snow in Southern California! Can't imagine anything more ridiculous than Christmas lights on a palm tree!
However, my bones do love the warmth..
I would gladly buy a fireplace if it promised to snow!

Thank you for this wistful nostalgia; you have taken us back to childhood, when snow meant no school!

from my earliest memory where they dressed me up in winter clothes and took me to the lake that froze
I grew to love the snow the white enchanted winter
months followed by the grayness of early spring
and tributaries of thick deep ponds it left behind
where the ducks would swim, the swamp looking for polliwog to transcend in the thick bog where I/'/d loose a boot never again to be found, and oh those organic smells of fermentation before the tulip bulbs sprang upwards

The snow man, the snow men, the walking on frozen snow and skinning your knees by its cut

Oh yes yes Mr Searles I would easily wish
for it this time of year to be.

Thanks man!

Peace!
