The Overnight Anticipation of Morning's Arrival

Contributed by xHeathenx on Thursday, 3rd December 2015 @ 11:03:30 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Not an ape and not a man
Not a rodent yet still a shrew
Books of faded pictures children drew
Collecting dust here once again

Lights burned out, must replace the bulbs
Possessions scattered as garment thoughts
Circulating speech
Rotational esteem

Laying in a gurney bed
Rolling up and down
A half-pipe made of lead
Never getting much for air

I'm beside myself with love
Drowning in it, to save my other self
It's become too much, pungently ubiquitous
Seconds stretch on and on

The morning comes with peace
The balance of pain and relief
Tender tickles of the distant sun
Nips and barks of nearby cold

I've climbed once before,
And now it seems I must again
But gravity is powerful
And I'm but still a young-come man

Challenge stress and grief
Are almost always overcome
But like hounds they come in packs
I feel there's no shame, in fearing their attacks

Well Mark you picked a good time to get lost as the site is screwed up. Without a tablet I can't even comment. That aside the vacation away did you good. I really liked the poem. I thought it was one of your recent best.

It was unusual in a great way. Sort of down home and I really got into it. Maybe I should get lost more often myself. Great write indeed.
Chin up!

James

You know I relate. This is our medium, we use our ink as sometimes bad-blood that needs a means of escape. You do well. I applaud you.

I like this poem Mark. As Jame wrote, a break did you good. I took a little break myself. Sometimes, (even though the thoughts twirl as fast as ever in our heads) these same thoughts to percolate, and your obvious percolation has brewed one fine poem to imbibe.

Very cool and well structured. Content? A-

Invierno
