Soft Splashy Clatter

The well is empty.
I dropped a stone and I'm still waiting
for the soft splashy clatter to wend it's way
up from the black.
This well needs rain (I complain)
falling down,
or the water table up;
bricks aren't enough for one
waiting and not seeing.
When I go to the well,
(To myself I whisper, I tell)
it's not for stupid bricks,
“What's with these tricks?,
where's the cool
sweet water of ideas?”
Fool though to beg for liquid reflections,
a splash to inspire a poetic dash as if
introspection cannot be found
in the dropped pebble that makes no sound.

Right. Our wells often run dry. But Blokes like yourself always manage to find another source from which to fill your well of ideas and thoughts.
Well done!

Even without inspiration you are still incredibly creative, I really enjoy how you make something from nothing and turn it to wow.

Your story is a conversation with yourself, and the style is fun and easy to identify with. Our inside dialog tells tales about us, and yours has concluded that what you seek you already have!
Nice wind up "as if introspection cannot be found in the dropped pebble that makes no sound!"
You brought it full circle, tied it in a bow, and left it on our doorstep, sealed in hopefulness.
A feel good ending to take away.
