Hey! all you guys and girls who are wise,
Don't write a poem 'cause somebody dies.
This I have learned from Anabel Lee,
Poe had Lenore to brew all his tea.
Don't write of hell unless they pay cash
To take out an ad for some future bash.
The Inferno of Dante's never made dough,
Dante said things there were slow.
Shakespeare killed kings. He did by the score
And princes and barons and gentry galore,
Their wives and their children he'd often inter
And anyone else, you might well infer.
The point of the story..don't get too gory.
If you don't believe me, ask Peter Lorre.
Pete worked the plot..til it got so hot,
He'd murder a few on a Hollywood lot.
Death as a plot is dull like as not,
The villain gets hisses and smiles a lot,
It's hard to enlighten a writing so crass,
Drop the material and let it just pass.

| I like the rhymes in this and you're write death is a very common subject it gets kind of tiresome, Great work! |
