oops
|
the sun rises softly
above my neighbor's roof
my cat scratches at the window
to be let out the front door
to witness
the roses open to the day
my other neighbor
(early riser)
quenches his lawn's thirst
helping the morning dew
the sun hits my eyes
(not so softly, for they are blue)
as sprinklers startle me
freeway nearby
(didn't realize I was so used to it)
my roses, so pretty~
deep red, peach, yellow and pink
but look closely
they aren't perfect
just like me and you
