purple dragons float here
in this crazy mess
look upon mere mortals
eyes full of distress
one says to me gently
"what havoc have you brought
to this fair land of plenty?"
I sat awhile and thought
plague, disease and murder
is what we have to give
plunge the knife deeper
bleed the soul; don't let it live
a faerie of lore
comes in for a view
she says, "oh dear,
what has happened to you?
I left you
one hundred years ago
full of love and life
no sign of woe"
a crimson gargoyle
joins the jury
his sadness for us
is mixed with his fury
"you rape your own land
exploit what you're given,
a conscience have you?
us creatures you've driven
out of your world
of misery and strife
we're sworn to protect
each precious little life!
but save you, we cannot
from your very own soul
change comes from within,
you naughty troll!"
I thought for a moment
this jury was true
how can we change
this damage we do…
to be continued

I'm back from my month long training :)
Very nice continuation. I enjoyed this because it touched a number of important subjects in a wonderfully brilliant medium.
As it was said, "Let them have cake," so is it now said, "Let them have poetry." And, hopefully, so it will be. :D
