My Sweet Serendipity

Contributed by xHeathenx on Friday, 23rd October 2015 @ 09:26:15 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

While others gaze 'pon, and reach for heaven's stars,
A solitary wade penetrates, motes of the castles in the skies.
Netting nostalgiac memory, in old fine ceramic jars,
Stepping of the shell, redundantly, ad infinitum; in which my soul lies.

Warping spine procured, by cyclic bending means.
Awaiting finality, though that "trend", will not soon ever come to be.
Scaling, then falling, from cliffs of pain, to lonesome uneffervescent seas.
Apathy was my harness, yet I unclipped and fell in free.

Avast! Desist! Assist this driftwood old!
This iron carried, deep within my blood, it is not keen to water.
Scurried away, home, in disfigured, broken wooden mold,
Pleas drowned out, as a slathered cacophony of fodder.

With this now, my life, soon to be bereaved.
Drawing final breath, though, it will be wrenched and set free.
Oh God, please, I wish to have believed!
More than this, exists, to solve the puzzle "me".

Crepitant creaking; Oneiric or reality?
Oh no... Seeping water... Is this how I welcome end?
Sprawling and clawing, panic, pours out of me.
Trembling and Screaming. This is surely not pretend.

Mud-hued splinters shower upon my body,
As torrents of water cascade and pour about me.
I'm wrested out unconscious, pulled away, by manners most eerie.
Lured away and abducted, adopted by the abysmal sea...

In this escapade, I am grazed, by brisk and unknown aura.
The emotions felt, they are quite a true plethora.
My mind, my ego, they are left to starve.
My spirit, my soul, they shrivel, avid kin to larva.

Floating upward I defy, the most elementary law,
For what goes up, my friend, will never come back down.
The chilling and my malaise, soon begin to thaw,
And unknowingly, unwittingly, I'm now becoming sound.

My eyes open, as the water's no longer in my lungs.
I have life again! I have what I've always wanted most!
I rise, plotted upon a beach, with my soul now sprung.
What strange manner, this peril hast thusly thrust!

I crawl away from the water onto fine warm and grainy sand.
I kiss it, take it, and hold it high up in my hands.
It takes me. Hold me sand! Embrace my souls and feet!
I can't inflate my joy, Oh, my sweet serendipity!

A wonderfully-penned match. Enough to raise the shackles. Darwin: 1, God: 0
