To what is real I can't appeal
Raindrops endlessly tearing at my soul
There is a need I shouldn't recede
The wind stabs with an overbearing force
I can not stop this internal prop
A fire burns passionately, seamlessly
Time and time again I wonder what SHOULD have been
But the snow covers with relentless ambition
No definition I've lost my keys to the ignition
Overcome
Above the dark
Again and again
It tears me apart

I cannot really relate to drug addiction, so I suppose I'm lucky in that way but the poem itself is written very well. The reader can certainly feel the angst & emotion.
Nicely done. Welcome to YPDC.
