My friend has come again I see.
Blushing as a virgin a minute apart
every twenty-four hours.
Lifting her skirts to reveal promises
only I can make real.
Dawn, I love you anew as fresh
as yestermorn's dew.

Ah, wonderful. You do her justice with your words. She came silently this morning, through a haunting mist. How many times I've greeted her, and yes, she's a friend alright.
Perfect, my friend, just perfect. |

How clever to see the dawn as a friend "Lifting her skirts to reveal promises only I can make real."
I wonder if dusk is the black, blue, and bloodied carcass of winning her daily battle, withdrawing to heal for another sunrise?
There is a lesson of endless renewal and hope in here somewhere!

I enjoy this, as well as the comments.
The third line is my favorite though. It makes this not only happy, but an inspirational piece. While it's best not to base our self-worth or esteem upon the environment, there's nothing wrong with allowing it to remind ourselves of what's precious to us, and what we really seek.
Nicely done. |
