Idle Time

Topic: Lifepoems

Sitting in the living room
Idle time is here
Remembering all the mistakes I made
Wishing someone would hurry to my aid

Then again, how about NO
All your talk is about me reaping what I sow
Every single one of you keep my mistakes close to heart
Making it impossible for me to even get a jump start

Idle time is here and my brain is speeding up
I’m trying to figure out what you did, did you put something in my cup?
I mean, I’ve been living depressed for twenty three years
That’s twenty three years of sadness, twenty three years of tears

But I notice everyone else in this family
Seems to be doing just fine
So what in the hell happened then?
Are you sure this isn’t the blind just leading the blind?

I feel like I’m trapped here
Stuck in this horrible box
And there seems to be know way out
Not even if I had a million blocks

It’s funny to see the people we know
Try to act like they really care
It’s funny how they all become Doctors so quick
Giving you advise that they think is fair

I really don’t care anymore
Way deep down inside
I just want to be left alone
I really don’t care if you cry

I don’t care if you think you know what’s best for me
I think your advice has always ended in catastrophe
We only get one shot in this life
So I choose to do it my way because my way just feels right

I will conquer the world without you people
I will climb up on the highest of all steeples
I will scream at the top for victory will be mine
I will yell down to all of you who doubted me and say “Here’s your sign”

So when I disappear here in a short while
Please don’t be sad, please continue to smile
For I am doing what I do best
Living life my way, I will never rest

Siting in the living room I am dazed and I’m confused
Remembering all the times that I still feel abused
Idle time is here again
I’m so tired of being used

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
