My Qualifications

Contributed by Archie on Thursday, 10th September 2015 @ 05:37:01 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I try
I have tried
and I wonder about my trying
Does it matter that I try
when you accuse me of not trying
To you I am a ghost
only a means to an end
And you always side against me
That is why I hate you

You don't even consider my side
You are quick to blame me
because it keeps your corpse from the fire
I promise you I will not burn
I will be the whirlwind
I will be the storm when you beset me
And I will turn your fire back on you

You will learn to hate me
just like all the others who have no honor
But you will respect me after this
After today
You will consider my truth
or we will perish together
in never ending fights
We will perish not because I killed you
but because you sank our boat
and making a name for your self
made you miss the truth

You need me to survive

Consider this when you wish to vanquish your next hero

Honesty always reveals the truth that is hidden from us

Serious stuff here, Archie. Disquieting.

A very deep poem indeed.
I would not work with someone who pulled those kinds of emotions out of me. Life is too short and who needs the drama.
Very well expressed angst!

It is so like us to let others decide how we will feel!
But in truth, it is we who decide.
Sounds funny, but I always think that people who don't like me have very poor taste! No powers of observation. No perception!
How could they possibly miss my wonderfulness?
So I look at them as handicapped; denied the basic human skills most of us enjoy. and my pursecutor becomes someone I pity.
They are very unhappy people. And we can choose not to be. There is no better revenge than to embrace the enemy "I'm so sorry you're having such a bad day. How on earth do you stay so positive?" It is hard to find fault with someone who puts you on a pedestal. (Don't try to live up to his expectations; Make him live up to YOURS!) .
If you have to stay there, make him your hero; all he will think about when he sees you is that he is going to get another compliment! And he will be genuinely sorry to see you go.

Greatness. So many lines spoke to me and this is the kind of poem that grabs hold and hangs onto me. Incredible piece of writing.
