september moon

Stayin' up past midnight
Staring into the void of her broken heart
When loves last words were spoken
Her soul was torn apart
She stays up and wonders
where did life do her wrong
How he brought her to this level;
she's not as strong
She's staring up into the dark
At the September moon
She realizes far too late
That he was gone to soon

What I like about this is two ways to look at it.
One is how she's staring at the moon thinking of everything, only sadly does she now realize what it is all at once, and the second being a sense of closure and understanding of why she's felt the way she has been, but it's the first necessary step to find somewhere new in one's own future, and travel there. |

Ah .."Staring into the void of her broken heart"..what a splendid introduction to this story that ends too quickly!
Forgive my greed; it is meant to be concise, but I would like it to go on and on!
Truly I feel your sincerity, and that is what draws us in to this lovely write.
You do not struggle to convince or explain; a compliment to your readers. And the simplicity is as stunning as the fitting last lines.

I've looked out that window at that same moon. Darn good job conveying the subtleties of loss.
