Let Come Whatever May

Contributed by xHeathenx on Monday, 7th September 2015 @ 05:43:46 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

I've walked on stone sidewalks;
Along red velvet carpets;
Lived in the city,
But never in the woods

I've embraced technology,
Loving arms and kisses;
Traversed rough waters,
While bathing in the calm

I've danced and sang,
Washing in the rain;
Laughed and smiled,
With but the fondest hearts

And so I've come to learn,
The most flexible path,
Is simply one of dirt;
As it's carried by the wind

And so, I travel more,
To see what the future has in store;
To experience what new stories I shall tell,
To find paradise, as well as inevitable hell

What man walks past forest,
Farms and city as well,
Saying to himself, "Somewhere,
Someday, I'll find my home?"

Surely not I,
Not any more
For I cannot embrace the future,
Unless I embrace what's in store

I like the second and last stanzas of this poem best. I try to prepare for the future by lessoning the mistakes I have made in the past.

What a beautiful and perceptive piece...I never know what kind of poem I will read from you. I like that you don't confine yourself to one subject, or idea of what a poem should be.
Your mind appears to be a busy place, and you often take the reader along in your journey of self discovery, and intrigue for life.
Wonderful write...That title you chose really seems to sum up your attitude, and faith that everything happens as it should. And here many of us spend most of our days desperately hoping to find that sense of peace and balance in our lives.
Never let that go!
