Caress The Knife

Contributed by unknown_utopia on Sunday, 30th August 2015 @ 10:24:21 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Searching for the reason
I need something
anything
to hold onto,
. emotionally unstable
I silently sulk
no one knows or cares
what I am going through.

Needing satisfaction
only getting it
when I bleed,
oh
I smile to myself
as I softly caress the knife...
then I slowly start to cut
searching for that sweet release.

when I hit that spot
everything starts spinning...
the feel of the release blows my mind,
for a moment I've forgotten the pain
I moan
and
I softly sigh.

While your poem makes sense I hope you know ppl do care and that cutting only hurts and separates you from them.

Know that you are among friends here.
I may not know your personal torments, but I am all too familiar with the driving force wrapped in this poem.
In this sort of confession I'm tempted to say stop, and to give you the quiet reasons why. But this isn't the issue. It is something that runs deeper than the knife across your skin.
This hits close to home for me.
Send a message if you like. Otherwise all I have to say is hang in there.

Very sad poem but someone's reality.
Never underestimate the healing power of a busy mind. Work or activities and the belief in a higher power.
If you ever need encouragement we are all here for you if this is a personal poem.

The comments below must not know what you mean
I Been where you are I've bled more than you've seen
I've cut at my wrists and I slit my throat clean.
I've got no reason to live but still I'm a being.
But my hand I will give or a shoulder to lean.

Cutters cut. It sux but better we cut ourselves than to cut the reason that makes us this way.

Our struggles and burdens belong to us alone.
No amount of friendship can dilute or abolish them for us, BUT, sometimes a bit of advice can help us see the same thing in a less earth-shattering light.
There are specially trained persons who can witness and acknowledge your grief, who will help you work through them.
Understand that you are the victim, and if you came upon yourself as a stranger, you would try to help. When you are ready, you will untangle the darkness you are holding. It will take courage.
And you have the soul of a warrior.
